UK ISDN Switch Off 2025
What’s happening…’?
The UK are moving all phone customers from the old analogue public switched telephone network (PSTN) to a fully digital network. It’s already started. It is planned to move everyone over before Openreach stop the PSTN (and ISDN) service in 2025.
When you say ‘everyone…’?
Yes, everyone. Business and home. And it’s not just your phone services you need to think about. It’s everything else that currently uses the old phone network, all your non-voice services connected to PSTN or ISDN lines. Things like alarms, EPOS machines, door entry systems, CCTV, faxes and for the lift industry “Autodialler Phone Lines”.
2025. That’s years away. Why are we talking about this now…’?
You need to start planning your move today because there could be a lot to do. Remember, it’s not just about calls. You need to review everything you’re connecting to your phone lines, like door entry systems, alarms and lift autodiallers.
What do you need to do…’?
Invest now in the technology required to facilitate continued service delivery post the ISDN switch off in 2025.
Why invest now, why not wait until late 2024…’?
Like everything in life and business, planning ahead is sensible, plus as we get closer to the 2025 switch off deadline (no pun intended), there will be two inevitable occurrences and one potential impact;
1. A mad rush to get old technology updated.
2. As demand increases, so will the price, and the potential for,
3. Supply of components to become scarce.
What can you do now and how can Lift Specialists Ltd support you…’?
As I have already indicated, you need to be starting your upgrade project as soon as possible, to help you with your project we have a range of solutions designed to support you and future proof your emergency autodialler systems, ranging from;
• Complete autodialler replacement, coupled with GSM modules.
