Maintenance on boarding after consultant recommendation when the current service supplier incumbent failed.
When a consultant you have been working with for decades calls and points you to a new client who is having problems with their current service supplier, you expect a challenge or two with the lift. What you don’t expect to find is no shaft lighting “Let’s be clear on this, I don’t mean the shaft lighting wasn’t working, I mean no shaft lighting” and builders rubble in the pit and on the car top, and remember the lift has been on contract for 12yrs!
A quick quote and repair, backed up by a full safety inspection, equipment survey plus a good maintenance and the lift is running well, happy customer and insurance inspector, an additional unit on the maintenance portfolio and an equipment survey recommending modernisation.
The left image shows the shaft looking up, how this had been maintained I have no idea!
The right image shows the builders rubble on the car top, how it got there is still a mystery?
